BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI) is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. BRIC-NABI aims to catalyze the transformation of India’s Agri-food sector by acting as a nodal organization for translational science and value-added Agri-Food biotech innovations.
The Food and Nutritional Biotechnology Division at BRIC-NABI is inviting applications for various research personnel on a purely temporary basis through Walk-in or Online interviews.
Comprehensive Project-Wise Vacancy Details
Project GAP-114: Disease Resistance in Brassica carinata
Project Title: “Genetic dissection of disease resistance against necrotrophic pathogens in Brassica carinata and its prospects for transfer into Brassica juncea (Indian mustard)”

1.(A) Research Associate-I (RA-I) – 01 Post
Eligibility & Age Limit
Age Limit: 40 Years (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PD and women candidates as per GOI norms).
Duration: 1 year (Extendable based on research progress and performance evaluation).
Desirable Experience:
- Interest in genetics and genomics of crop species.
- Handling genomics data, GWAS, QTL analysis, and NGS data analysis (genome assembly, comparative genomics) with peer-reviewed publications/preprints.
- Experience in plant-pathogen interactions or plant pathology.
Responsibilities
- Genetics, genomics, and phenotyping aspects of the project.
- Sequencing and phenotyping of Brassica carinata germplasm.
- Bioinformatics analysis including variant calling, GWAS, and population genomics.
- Report preparation and manuscript writing.
Monthly Emoluments
Rs. 58,000/- per month + HRA (As per DST OM No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26.06.2023)
1.(B) Project Associate – 01 Post
Essential Qualifications & Age
Age Limit: 35 Years (Relaxation as per GOI norms).
Duration: Initially 1 year (Extendable until project completion based on funds & performance).
Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in Life Sciences / Agricultural Science / Biotechnology or allied subjects from a recognized University/Institute (with or without CSIR-UGC-NET/GATE/National level exams).
Desirable Experience: Large-scale phenotyping/phenomics, genetic population development, genotyping, or plant-pathogen interactions.
Responsibilities
- DNA isolation, Quality Control (QC), and field phenotyping experiments along with RA-I.
- Data collection, analysis, documentation, and coordination within the multi-institute framework.
Monthly Emoluments
Rs. 31,000/- per month + HRA (with NET/GATE/National test) OR Rs. 25,000/- per month + HRA (without NET/GATE)
1.(C) Field / Lab Assistant – 01 Post

Age Limit: 50 Years.
Duration: Initially 1 year (Extendable based on performance and funds).
Essential Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences / Agricultural Science / Biotechnology or allied subjects, OR

- Gene function validation in rice.
- Multi-omics and associated data analysis.

Project Title: “Bioengineering of Rhodopseudomonas for sustainable CO2 capture and improved soil fertility to enhance crop productivity and climate-smart agriculture”

- Estimation of GHG emission in field experiments.

Qualifications & Duration
Duration: 2 Years (2026-2028).

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences or Biotechnology with at least two peer-reviewed international publications in SCI journals.
Desirable Expertise
- Genetic and metabolic engineering of Saccharomyces cerevisiae or yeast species.
- CRISPR/Cas-based genome engineering and molecular cloning.
- Synthetic biology and heterologous pathway reconstitution.
- Promoter engineering and metabolic flux analysis.
- Analytical techniques (HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS).

- Interview Mode Check: Candidates must verify the mode of interview under each position. For positions marked as walk-in only (Field/Lab Assistant and Field/Lab Worker), candidates must attend physically.
