The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Lucknow, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for 208 vacant posts of Scientific Assistant and Lab Assistant. Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications
Age Limit Constraints
- Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed 40 years of age as of 1st July of the calendar year in which the vacancies are advertised.
- Upper age limit relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC, and other specified categories as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules.
Educational Requirements per Domain (For both Scientific & Lab Assistant)
- (A) Biology Domain: B.Sc. with Biology or Forensic Science, containing specialization in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Cell Biology, or Microbiology from a recognized university.
- (B) Physics Domain: B.Sc. with Physics or Forensic Science, containing specialization in Physics, Nuclear Science, Instrumentation, or Electronics. Alternatively, a B.Tech degree in Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
- (C) Chemistry Domain: B.Sc. with Chemistry or Forensic Science, containing specialization in Chemistry or Biochemistry from a recognized university.
- (D) Computer Science Domain: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science OR an ‘A’ Level Diploma from NIELIT (DOEACC).
Preferential Qualifications: In case of equal marks, preference will be given to candidates possessing an M.Sc. in the relevant subject, higher qualifications in Computer Science (for CS domain), minimum 2 years of service in the Territorial Army, or an NCC ‘B’ Certificate.
Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Selection will be based entirely on a written examination. Shortlisting for the written exam will call candidates up to 15 times the number of category-wise vacancies based on the PET-2025 normalized score.
