Scientific Officer (C) – IT Infrastructure

Required Technical Experience

- 100m Sprint: 16 seconds for males (18 seconds for females/candidates above 35 years).
- 1.6 Km Run: 6.30 minutes on straight tracks (extended to 8.00 mins inside TIFR Colony tracks). 8.30 minutes for females/above 35 years (extended to 10.00 mins inside TIFR Colony).

📜 General Information, Policy Mandates & Rules
- All posts advertised are primarily tenable at TIFR, Colaba, Mumbai, but appointees are liable to be transferred to other Centers/Field Stations across India based on institutional exigencies.
- Tenure Reviews: Appointments for Sr. Nos. 1 to 7 and 12 to 17 are initially for a period of three years (including a 1-year probation period). Continued appointment beyond three years is strictly subject to a comprehensive performance appraisal review up to superannuation age (60 years).
- Shift Responsibilities: Selected candidates for technical/vocational trades (Sr. Nos. 12 to 17 and 22 to 29) are mandatorily required to work in rolling shift patterns, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, based on institute needs.
- Pension Scheme: Selected candidates for permanent roles (Sr. Nos. 1 to 29) will be governed under the National Pension System (NPS) architecture.
- Government Employees: Applicants serving inside regular Government, Semi-Government, or PSU layouts must produce a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their competent authority during the selection process.
- Grade Point Conversion Mandate: In cases where University/Board systems implement letter grades or CGPA, candidates must produce the official conversion formula documentation to equivalent percentage during verification, failing which the candidature will be rejected.
- Travel Reimbursement Protocols: Outstation candidates called for selection rounds for Level-10 posts receive 1st class or III-Tier A/C return train fare.
