About the Organization & Recruitment Drive: The Recruitment & Assessment Centre (RAC) invites online applications from graduate engineers and postgraduates in Science for direct recruitment to the posts of Scientist ‘B’. This recruitment drive encompasses 127 vacancies in the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), 09 vacancies in the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), and 16 encadred posts across various Ministry of Defence establishments including WESEE Delhi, CME Pune, AFMC Pune, and various Armed Forces Selection Centres. 📜 Comprehensive Guidelines & Instructions
1. ELIGIBILITY FOR RECRUITMENT TO POSTS
- Nationality: Only Indian nationals need apply.
- Age Limit (as on closing date): Un Reserved (UR) / EWS: Age not exceeding 35 years. OBC (Non-creamy layer): 38 years. SC/ST: 40 years.
- Age Relaxation: Up to 10 years for Divyangjan category candidates. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for serving Central Civilian Govt. employees working in posts which are in the same line or allied cadres. Ex-servicemen relaxations apply as per rules in vogue.
2. HOW TO APPLY
- Candidates are required to register online at the RAC website (https://rac.gov.in).
- On successful registration, the candidates may login before the closing date of the advertisement to fill the application form online. Upload the requisite certificates, complete fee payment, and lock the application before submission.
- For Government Employees: Candidates serving in Govt/Govt owned organizations should submit their applications online directly to RAC, under intimation to their Cadre Controlling Authority (CCA) to seek a “No Objection Certificate (NOC)”. Proof of submission of this INTIMATION LETTER must be uploaded within 15 days of the closing date. They must produce the NOC during document verification.
- Temporary Govt. employees unable to get NOC must submit an Intimation-cum-Undertaking (format available on RAC website) within 30 days of the closing date.
- Only locked/finalised applications in all respects shall be considered.
3. DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED ONLINE
- Self-attested certificates regarding Date of Birth (Matriculation/Birth Certificate), Essential Qualification degree along with mark-sheets (front and reverse), Conversion Formula (CGPA/CPI to Percentage), Caste, EWS status, Ex-serviceman, Disability, etc. (File size: 100KB to 500KB, legible, not password protected).
- A recent passport size colour photograph and Scanned sample of candidate’s signature.
- Valid GATE score card (of the year 2023/2024/2025) and Screenshot of GATE Results webpage displaying the candidate’s GATE score.
- Proof of registration with Rehabilitation Council of India (only for Clinical Psychology).
- Relevant affidavit if there is any mismatch in the name of self or parents across documents.
4. APPLICATION FEE & MODE OF PAYMENT
- General (UR), EWS and OBC male candidates are required to pay a non-transferable, non-refundable application fee of Rs 100/- (Rs. One Hundred only) payable online only.
- There is no application fee for SC/ST/ Divyangjan and women candidates.
5. SCREENING/ SHORTLISTING
- Eligible candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of GATE score in the ratio of 1:10 subject to their availability in order of discipline-wise category-wise merit list.
- The shortlisted candidates will be asked to confirm their willingness to appear for Personal Interview by a given deadline and select their choice of tentative interview date online.
- Information regarding the shortlisted candidates will be made available at RAC website.
6. VERIFICATION OF GATE SCORES
- On the day of interview, candidates may have to validate their GATE scores by logging into the GATE Results portal themselves using their GATE login credentials, for showing their GATE results on-screen.
- On verification, if it is found that the candidate’s GATE score is false, RAC reserves the right to initiate appropriate proceedings (including proceedings under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, 2023) against the candidate.
7. SELECTION PROCESS
- The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear in the Personal Interview to be held at Delhi or any other place as decided by RAC/DRDO.
- Appointment will be subject to satisfying conditions like qualifying the Medical Examination prescribed for Group ‘A’ Technical posts of Govt. of India with Field Service liability and verification of Character & Antecedents.
8. SELECTION CRITERIA
- Final selection will be purely on the basis of discipline-wise category-wise merit of aggregate of 80% weightage of marks of GATE score and 20% weightage of marks in Personal Interview.
- Only those candidates securing minimum qualifying marks of 70% (for UR category) and 60% (for EWS/OBC/SC/ST/Divyangjan category) in the Personal Interview will be considered for preparation of final merit list.
- Candidates who do not qualify the interview will not be considered for final selection irrespective of their GATE score.
11. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Online application submission link and detailed guidelines are available at RAC website (https://rac.gov.in).
- The OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and EWS candidates are required to submit requisite certificates in the prescribed format. The certificate must have been issued on or after 01 Apr 2025 and must be valid through the Financial Year 2025-26.
- Applicants are advised not to change their registered mobile number as vital information regarding their shortlisting/selection status may be intimated through SMS.
- Shortlisted candidates shall be able to download their call letter for interview respectively along with its venue, date & time after successful registration through RAC website. Call letters will not be sent by post.
