📝 Eligibility & Salary Structure

1. Age Limit (As on 12.02.2026)

  • Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’: 18 – 35 Years.
  • Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (ME/MTech based): 18 – 30 Years.
  • Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (MSc based): 18 – 28 Years.
  • Relaxation: Applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per Govt rules.

2. Pay Scale & Benefits

  • Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’: Level 11 (₹67,100 – ₹2,08,700).
  • Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’: Level 10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500).
  • Benefits: DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, Medical facilities, LTC, Group Insurance, etc.
💰 Application Fee:
General/OBC/EWS: Rs. 750/- (Rs. 500 refundable after exam)
SC/ST/PwBD/Women: Exempted (Rs. 750 charged initially, fully refunded after exam)

🎯 Selection Process

The selection methodology varies based on the post level.

  • Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’: Shortlisting based on academic credentials followed by Personal Interview.
  • Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’:
    • Written Test: Computer Based Test (CBT) to shortlist candidates.
    • Interview: Final selection based on Interview performance (50% weightage) + Written Test (50% weightage) or as per ISRO norms.

01 Design development and testing of mm/sub-mm wave systems for current/future space borne payloads for earth observation/inter-planetary/astronomical missions. Design and development of advance antenna systems like reconfigurable meta surface antennas, plasma antennas and shaped beam antennas for microwave sensors and communication payloads.
02 Mathematical modeling of communication systems (wireless/satellite/ digital). Development of architecture for integration of satellite & terrestrial communication systems for upcoming wireless communication standards (6G). Algorithm and protocol development for wireless, satellite and digital communication and signal processing related activities.
03 Research and advance technique development for agriculture applications, retrieval of crop biophysical and bio-chemical variables and modelling of process variables using optical and thermal infrared sensing.
04 Design and development of RFICs related to frequency sources development. Design, development and testing of multifunctional MMICs & characterization of frequency sources. Design, development and testing of RF subsystems for future space-borne payloads for earth observation/ inter-planetary/astronomical missions.
05 Design and development of analog/digital/mixed signal electronic hardware for space-borne/airborne/ ground systems. Integrated opto-quantum based miniaturized chips design. General Guidelines for Filling Online Application

  • Follow instructions carefully while filling online application form.
  • Enter correct data in the relevant columns as required.
  • Although name of some discipline/domain are common viz for post code 04, 05 and 06, the candidates are advised to submit their online application only against the post code corresponding to the Essential and Pre-requisite qualification.
  • The vacancies for the discipline of Computer Science Engineering under Post Code 07 is for ISRO Centres/Units whereas vacancy for the discipline of Computer Science Engineering under Post Code 08 is for NESAC (Autonomous body under Department of Space). Candidates should apply separately for Post Code 07 and 08 if they intend to apply for both.
  • Candidate can apply for more than one post. However, SAC reserves the right to conduct exam for two or more posts simultaneously, as per administrative exigency.
  • Field marked with * is a mandatory field and requires to be filled.

Important Information

  • Tie-Breakers (For Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’): In the event of tie during the final empanelment, merit will be decided based on: (i) Marks scored in Written test, (ii) Marks scored in essential qualification, (iii) Date of Birth, with older candidates placed higher.
  • Documents for Written Test: Candidates must bring: a) Any valid Government issued photo Identification proof in original. b) Printed copy of E-Admit Card sent on email ID (Soft Copy Not Allowed).
  • PwBD Candidates: At the time of Interview, PwBD candidates must produce original certificate of disability (minimum 40%) issued by Medical Board consisting of at least 3 members.

General Conditions Applicable to All Posts

  • Only Indian Nationals need to apply.
  • Applications made online only will be entertained. Physical applications will not be entertained.
  • The posts are temporary but likely to continue.
  • The number of vacancies indicated are provisional and may be increased or decreased. ISRO reserves the right to cancel recruitment at any stage.

  • Qualifications must be completed within the stipulated duration of the course.
  • Where a university mentions both CGPA & Percentage, at least one criteria must meet ISRO’s eligibility norms. Rounding-off of marks is NOT allowed.
