The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad is a Research Institute of Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC). Applications are invited from enthusiastic, young Indian researchers with an excellent academic record to fill the following posts of Scientists:

🔬 1. Post: Scientist – IV

Method of Recruitment: By Deputation failing which by Direct Recruitment basis.

Eligibility for Deputation (Age Limit: 56 Years)

  • Essential Qualifications: 1st class M.Sc with 09 years experience; OR 1st class M.Tech./MD/MVSc/M.Pharm / M.Biotech with 08 years R & D experience; OR Ph.D or corresponding degrees in other disciplines with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with about 05 years of R & D experience is required.
  • Essential Experience: 04 years experience as Scientist – III or in equivalent scale of Pay Matrix Level-11 (Pre-revised Pay Scale of 15600-39100 Plus GP 6600 in PB-3).

Eligibility for Direct Recruitment (Reserved for OBC-NCL | Age Limit: 45 Years)

  • Essential Qualifications: 1st class M.Sc with 09 years experience; OR 1st class M.Tech. / MD / MVSc/M. Pharm / M.Biotech with 08 years R & D experience; OR Ph.D or corresponding degrees in other disciplines with original work as evidenced by patents or publications. Evidence of leadership with about 05 years of R & D experience is required.

Desirable Qualifications & Job Description (For Both)

  • Desirable: Candidate should have an outstanding track record as a researcher in life sciences as evident by high-quality scientific publications, research grant and/or supervision of PhD students.
  • Areas of Interest: All areas of modern biology including but not limited to infection biology, synthetic biology / systems biology / genomics / disease biology.
  • Job Description: The candidate should possess leadership skills to head their own independent research group, supervise Ph.D. students, and mentor junior staff. Must demonstrate a strong ability to conceptualize innovative research ideas and attract extramural grants.

Essential Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • 1st class M.Sc. with 05 years experience.
  • OR 1st class M.Tech./MD/MVSc / M.Pharm / M.Biotech with 04 years R & D experience.
  • OR Ph.D with 01 year post-doctoral experience in the relevant field.

Desirable Qualifications & Key Responsibilities

The position requires the candidate to engage in clinical molecular and cytogenetic diagnostics. The candidate should have:

  • Knowledge in the fundamentals of molecular biology and human genetics.
  • Practical experience in performing and supervising PCR, Sanger sequencing, genotyping, microarray, and next-generation sequencing workflows in a clinical/diagnostic setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with laboratory quality systems such as ISO15189, NABL, equipment maintenance, and compliance.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting molecular platforms, validating results, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities: Oversee established clinical diagnostics assays, standardize new ones, manage mutation confirmation workflow, train students/clinicians, handle laboratory test quality control and accreditation, and write draft clinical reports.

💻 Instructions for Filling the Online Application

Step 1: Registration Process

  • Register by clicking “New Registration” and create a password. Use a valid email address as all correspondence will be digital.
  • A confirmation email with Registration ID will be sent. Candidates applying for multiple posts must register separately and submit separate fees.
  • Ensure the same photograph, mobile number, and email are used throughout the process.

Step 2: Fee Payment

Candidates are required to remit an application fee of ₹300/- (for OBC candidates in India) and USD 20 (or equivalent INR for OBC candidates from abroad with OCI Status) via the SBI Collect payment link.

Exemptions: All Women candidates, SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from fee payment, provided they upload valid proof. Reserved candidates applying under UR must pay full fees.
  • Log on to SBI Collect > Select Telangana > Select Govt Department > Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics > Select Application fee > Fill Advt No. 06/2025.
  • Generate the acknowledgement containing UTR/Transaction Number. Note down the Registration ID, Candidate Name, Post Name, and Category on the backside of the printed receipt.

Step 3: Application Filling and Submission

Login to the portal using Post name, Registration ID, and Password. Candidates must keep the following documents ready before starting:

  • Photograph: Max 100KB, .jpg format (300x400px).
  • Signature: Max 100KB, .jpg format (160x40px).
  • Certificates/Marksheets: DOB proof, 10th, 12th, Bachelor, Master’s, Ph.D. combined as a single PDF (Max 5MB).
  • Experience Certificate: PDF, Max 500KB.
  • NOC/Self Declaration: PDF, Max 500KB.
  • Category Certificates & Fee Receipt: PDF, Max 500KB.

Click “Upload Documents”, then “Submit”. Once submitted, no changes can be made. Ensure you complete the application form in all respects with correct details and verify it before final online submission.

📜 Terms and Conditions

For Deputation Candidates

  • Must be permanent employees of Government Departments, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, or Universities.
  • Must upload: Forwarding letter, Vigilance clearance, and Attested Copies of last 5 years (2020-21 to 2024-25) APARs.
  • The deputation period is initially 3 years, extendable by 2 years. Pay regulated in terms of DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II).
  • No application fee is required for deputation.

For Direct Recruitment Candidates

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India or an OCI with valid approval from MEA/Home Ministry.
  • Experience on a part-time basis or as visiting/guest faculty will not be counted. Project assignment experience on a full-time basis will be counted.
  • Experience details must be on the organization’s letterhead, indicating joining/relief dates, designation, and conduct, signed by an authorized signatory.
  • If any document is in a language other than English or Hindi, a transcript attested by a Gazetted Officer/Notary is required.
  • The Appointing Authority reserves the right to restrict candidates for interviews to a reasonable limit (i.e., ten times the number of vacancies) based on Screening Committee criteria.
  • Medical & Police Verification: Shortlisted candidates must compulsorily clear the prescribed medical examination and police verification before actual appointment.
  • Outstation unemployed SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid Second Class Sleeper fare by the shortest route.
  • Candidates selected will be on probation for two years.

Reservation & Age Relaxation Rules

  • Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for regular Govt/PSU employees, 05 years for SC/ST, and 03 years for OBC candidates against reserved posts.
  • Age relaxations as per DoPT OM No. 15012/2/2010-Estt. (D) for Divyangs and Ex-servicemen are applicable.
  • OBC (NCL) Rule: Candidates must submit a Non-Creamy Layer status certificate based on income for the preceding 3 financial years (2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25). The certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2025. Certificates obtained prior to 31.03.2025 will not be considered valid.
  • Once a reserved category is chosen, no request to change it will be entertained.

Selection Process

Selection for Scientists will involve two rounds of interviews (Preliminary and Final) either in person or via Video Conferencing, requiring a detailed presentation of research work and future plans. For Scientist III, a written test at Hyderabad may be conducted if the application volume is large.
