The BRIC-Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar is a premier national institution operating under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. ILS is dedicated to high-quality, multidisciplinary research to advance human health, longevity, agriculture, and the environment.
The Institute is actively inviting online applications for faculty positions from eligible early and mid-career Indian scientists with leadership potential. Selected investigators will be provided independent laboratory space and start-up resources to establish independent multidisciplinary research programs.
Target Research Areas: Cancer immunotherapy, Clinical genomics, Gene therapy, Proteomics, Metabolomics, Metabolic and neurological disorders, Neglected tropical diseases, AMR, Vaccine development, Structural biology, Enzyme engineering, and Smart cereal crops.

Mandatory Enclosures / Additional Documents
- Research Plan: A well-articulated research plan (maximum 2 pages, mentioning previous publications if available).
- Cover Letter: Articulating synergies with the selected specific themes and clearly indicating the position and advertisement number.
- Complete Curriculum Vitae (CV): Must include Work Experience, Thesis/Project Supervision, Research Grants, Facilities created, Administrative Experience, Awards, Reviewer Experience, Referees, Patents, and a List of Publications (include conference/journal publications and impact factors).
- Certificates: Latest Caste, EWS, and/or Disability Certificate from the competent authority per Government of India norms. All degrees must be from UGC/AICTE/AIU recognized institutions.
General Conditions & Statutory Instructions
- The institute seeks applicants with requisite capabilities, merit, and suitability. Merely fulfilling eligibility criteria does not guarantee a call for assessment/interview. The probation period for all posts is 2 years.
- Age, educational qualifications, and experience relaxations will be considered for persons already holding analogous positions in Government Scientific Organizations/Research Institutions per BRIC Rules.
- The Screening and Selection Committee retains final authority on assessing the quality and impact of publications/patents.
- Government Employees: Persons working under Central Government/Autonomous Bodies must apply through the proper channel. They may send an advance copy, but a formal NOC from the employer is mandatory at the time of the interview.
- The crucial date for determining the age limit, educational qualifications, and experience will be the closing date for receipt of applications.
- Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the courts situated at Bhubaneswar/Cuttack only.
- The Institute reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post, increase/decrease vacancies, or cancel candidature without assigning reasons.
