IIT Gandhinagar SRIP 2026
🔬 Program Overview
The Summer Research Internship Program (SRIP) 2026 is IIT Gandhinagar’s flagship initiative designed to bring motivated students from prominent institutions across the country right to the IITGN campus. This program offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate and master’s students to participate in cutting-edge research projects.
Interns will undergo mentorship by esteemed IITGN faculty and gain exposure to state-of-the-art laboratories and instrumentation facilities available on campus. SRIP 2026 will be conducted in Offline/In-person mode, where students are expected to interact with faculty mentors regularly while staying on campus.
- Weekly Stipend: ₹2,000 (Paid after successful completion).
- Hostel Accommodation: Provided to interns (applicable charges apply).
✅ Eligibility & Requirements
Who Can Apply?
- Students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a prominent institution in India.
- Applicants may apply based on their interests and prior experience.
- Students are free to apply for projects outside of their declared degree specializations.
Program Requirements
- Applicants are required to work with an IITGN faculty mentor.
- Review the list of participating faculty and project descriptions before applying.
- Presentation & Report: Interns must make a presentation to the institute and submit a detailed report at the end of their tenure.

🏆 Bhalodia-Khetan Summer Research Excellence Award
The “Bhalodia-Khetan Summer Research Excellence Award” (SREA) recognizes excellence in research conducted during SRIP. It is set up through the generous support of New Jersey-based well-wishers, Ms. Vidya Bhalodia and Dr. Amit Khetan.
Categories: Engineering, Natural Science, and Humanities & Social Sciences (One per category).
About the Donors
Dr. Amit Khetan is a Senior Vice President in Quantitative Analysis at D. E. Shaw & Co. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from UC Berkeley and degrees from MIT. Ms. Vidya Bhalodia is a Data Scientist in healthcare, holding degrees from Caltech, Washington University, and Harvard University. They established this award to honor their parents and support outstanding research.
