The IITM Summer Fellowship Programme 2026 is a prestigious two-month internship designed to enhance awareness and interest in high-quality academic research among young students. It offers a unique opportunity for students in Engineering, Management, Sciences, and Humanities to undertake a goal-oriented summer internship at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with an outstanding academic background and high ranks in university examinations are encouraged to apply. Note: Students from IITs are not eligible to apply.

• Engineering (UG): Candidates pursuing the 3rd Year of B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg).
• Science (UG): Candidates pursuing the 3rd Year of 3-year B.Sc. (Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics).
• Integrated Degree: Candidates pursuing the 3rd or 4th Year of Integrated M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Sc.
• Post-Graduation: Candidates pursuing the 1st Year of M.Sc. / M.A. / MBA.

📝 How to Apply & Documents Required

Applications must be submitted online through the official IITM Student/Staff Services Portal. No hard copy submission is required.

Application Fee

₹100/- (Non-Refundable). Payment via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.

Documents to Upload (Soft Copy):

• Passport Size Photo: JPEG/PNG (Max 2MB).
• Bonafide Certificate Templates: Issued by the Head of Institution.

• Statement of Purpose (SOP): A short write-up (max 1 page) detailing your scientific interest and potential project ideas.

• Aadhar Card: PDF format.
